Thomas Luther Dixon, Sr. was born on November 4, 1935 in West Point, Mississippi, and passed away on November 27, 2020 in Fremont, CA, at the age of 85.

Thomas is survived by his beloved children Thomas Dixon Jr, Michael Anthony Dixon (Cecilia Vega), Leroy (Melba) Dixon, and Terry Zuber (Rowena) Dixon. Adoring grandfather to Victoria Lee England, Tiffany Monique Dixon, Elizabeth Ann Wood, Terrah Joy Dixon, Jordan Andrew Dixon, Tyler Brendan Dixon, Elijah R. Dixon, Ethan Zuber Dixon, and Aeden Thomas Dixon. Loving great-grandfather to Church England and Rowyn England. Caring brother to Alice Z. Dunston, Dorothy Dismuke, and Charles Henderson.

Thomas Dixon was a very kind man, hardworking and loved his family. He worked so hard to make a better life for his family and made sure that his sons followed in his footsteps. In his spare time if he wasn’t listening to the radio, working in the garden or watching TV then he was telling his sons and grandkids stories of him growing up in Mississippi. He loved to sit around and reminisce about his life and would often show his family pictures and give them a lot of family history. He was so proud of where he came from and how he grew up and he would light up when he talked about it.

What a beautiful example of love shared between Thomas and my mother for many years. An example to me of what’s possible through grace and determination.

Thomas Dixon, my brother-in-law, was my heart, my soul, my best friend. We met when I was 7 years old in Crocker Amazon Projects across from the Cow Palace. Then, we all moved to Hunters Point where him and my sister Brenda began dating. My dad assigned me as their chaperone when they went out. I remember Tom always wearing a suit and tie when dating Brenda. On the weekends, he would pick up and take out all my sisters, Brenda of course, Gloria, and Joyce, to get them out of the house. Tom cared about people. When I was in the Army, Tom would drive me to Fort Ord in Monterey and then back to Fremont using the back roads (at that time in 1966, there were no freeways). He loved his wife and children more than anything. He would always work overtime to give them whatever they needed. But even more importantly, I remember when I had double pneumonia and I was on my death bed in 2001, Tom visited me every single day. I love my brother-in-law and will truly miss him. I will always remember him. Rest In Peace Tom.

To my Father: You are and will always be the greatest man that I have ever known on earth.  I am so thankful for all the years God has blessed me and my family with such a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.  You have always been there for us. I will always remember the stories that you would tell us about growing up in West Point Mississippi.  Living in the country and, how beautiful it was. How you used to fish and hunt small game. Just enjoying the outdoors. The simple life in the country.  Farming and working the fields and the animals. You also had that dress to impress look that we used to see in the home movies and, in our adult life.  I became that country boy from Mississippi in my life.  Hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, plumber, carpenter, electrician.  Everything from your stories and watching you through out the years. I gained so much knowledge. You are truly my Hero.  Thank you Dad.  Rest in Heaven. We Love you so much and will miss you dearly. Your son, LeRoy Albert Dixon
