Obituaries

Victor G. Benavidez passed away Sunday August 1, 2021. Born March 22, 1933 to the late Manuel and Margarita Benavidez of Pearsall, Texas. Pre deceased by wife, Irene Benavidez 2012. He is survived by his son Victor Ivan Benavidez.

Victor worked at Hunts Wesson Cannery in Hayward for 30 years. He was also a forklift driver at Davis Walker and truck driver for Tri-Ced Community Recycling. He also enjoyed coaching baseball in Union City for more than 20 years. Together with his son they enjoyed restoring classic cars and trucks and going to car shows. He will be missed.

Visitation will be held at 9:30 AM. With a Funeral Mass 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Rosary in Union City, on Friday, August 13, 2021. Burial to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery, Newman, CA.
