Obituaries

Virginia Carlson passed away at age 88 on October 10, 2014. She was born in Sheridan, WY and graduated from Salinas High School. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Ada Urmson, brother Roy, and sister Jean. She is survived by her husband of 69 years and 11 months, Raymond; children: Janet (Wayne), Patti (Norm), and David (Andrea); grandchildren: Kristi Sanford, Bethany Lizardo, Colin Hughes, Elliott Hughes, and Julie Hughes; and great-grandchildren: Wren Sanford, Travis Hughes, and Linnea Hughes.

She loved her family, her many friends, her church, dogs, and enjoyed the occasional cat. She will be remembered for her delicious pies and her love of social gatherings.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 12pm at Centerville Presbyterian Church, 4360 Central Ave., Fremont, CA 94536. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Virginia to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, 2501 Oak Lawn Ave., Ste. 435, Dallas, TX 75219 or to Presbyterian Missions, c/o Centerville Presbyterian Church.
