Obituary For Vladimir Vysotsky

Vladimir Vysotsky, age 49, passed away on March 12, 2023, of an unexpected and untimely heart problem. Vladimir was married for 28 years and is survived by his wife Nadiya, parents Vladimir and Olga, children Vladimir and Olga, and younger brother Mikhail. He moved to Fremont at the turn of the millennium after a childhood and young adulthood spent in Kyiv, Ukraine, a city and country for which he retained great affection and loyalty. It was where he graduated from the Taras Shevchenko National University in Physics, like his father and brother, started his career as a network engineer, and met, befriended, and married Nadiya. Over the next two decades, he continued to build his career in California, quickly becoming a lead engineer and architect at Avistar and Citrix, all while supporting his wife and kids. His last day was spent caring for his wife and sailing with his crew in the San Francisco Bay. Sailing was only the latest of a long line of hobbies into which he threw himself wholeheartedly, never content to be anything less than an expert. He loved to be in nature and did not leave a single park within his reach unexplored. He absorbed languages, history, arts, and skills as enthusiastically as physics and engineering. His knowledge was matched only by his eagerness to share it. He will be sorely missed by all those whose lives he touched.
