Obituary For William âHutchâ Hutcherson
William “Hutch” Hutcherson, age 78, Resident of Union City, CA Departed this life on February 8, 2020.
William was born on January 18, 1942 in Columbus, GA, the son of Major and Willie Pearl Hutcherson.
He graduated from Berkeley High School in 1960. Then went onto proudly serve in the navy, during the Vietnam War, as a Submarine Quarter Master. Upon returning home with honorable discharge he began a career with AC transit as a bus driver; later being promoted to driving training instructor, for over 20 years during this time he met and married Willette (Wells) Ballard. They went onto have one son Quincy from this union. After retiring from AC transit, he worked part time at Stanford Blood Center for several years. He decided to officially retire spending time traveling to Las Vegas and Wisconsin. He enjoyed spoiling his only grandchild Gianna as much as he could. William is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Major, Jr. and his sister Pamela Hutcherson.
He is survived by his son Quincy (Laura). Granddaughter Gianna. Nieces Adrienne Hutcherson, Tammy Hutcherson, Jeanine Roberts, Willette Jordan, Stephanie Grogan-Jones, Bianca Grogan. Nephews Hilton Hutcherson, Maceo Hutcherson, Kevin Benson, John Roberts, Patrick Grogan, Terrence Ruffen and companion Karen Stienberg.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 – 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2020 with a Chapel Service at 1:00 PM at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont.

Iâm so sorry to hear of Hutchâs passing. I was a maid of honor at he and Willetteâs wedding in 1972. A fun and beautiful day it was. I will always have good memories of him. Rest In Peace.
